HERMENEUTIC PHILOSOPHY AND DATA COLLECTION:A PRACTICAL FRAMEWORK

A framework for data collection is proposed using principles of hermeneutic philosophy drawn from Heideggerrn(1976) and Gadamer (1975). Emphasis is placed on the ontological nature of Dasein as a means of re-rnassessing, even transcending the foundations of hermeneutic thought through the application of abstraction.rnThe themes identified propose a set of criteria against which the coherence and validity of the proposedrnresearch design can be determined.
