A Multi-Media Inspection/Repair Software Program for Equipment Condition Tracking, Analysis, and Reporting

This paper presents the results of an in-house program at Houston Lighting & Power (HL&P) in which a centralized inspection and repair program was built with an off-the-shelf ready software called EasyDOC~®. HL&P built the program so that all their major plants and equipment profiles including component details are accounted for to match the actual plant configuration. Inspection and repair procedures, manuals, pictures and drawings are also built-in to provide users complete instructions on how to perform specific jobs, which tools are required, what to report and how to diagnose and trend equipment condition. In addition, HL&P is also incorporating WEB pages into their program to take advantage of electronic standards and guidelines now offered by professional societies and regulatory agencies, plus the Internet commerce options offered by major vendors.
