摘要

The research is focused on the improvement of embedding strength of timber joints which combine usually with steel fasteners. The main concept of this study is to reinforce laterally the assembled timber elements by fiberglass fabrics. The premature failures are therefore avoided due to the lateral reinforcements that behave a high resistance and prevent splitting beginning of timber. The fundamental embedding tests are proposed and investigated. The improvements are obtained and explained by the failure modes. Besides, a Warren timber truss is tested by reinforcing fiberglass on the hinges.
