Detection Technology of Adulterants in Ltus Root Starch

In this study, over ten kinds of starch were observed by using an AHBS-514 Automatic Electron Microscope made in Japam. Selections of color developing agents were made based on shape, size and appearance of differnet starch granules and iodine was found the best. Color photomicrographs of pure starches were taken as standards and a series of adulterated starches were prepared as comparison. In addition, organoleptic tests were conducted to detect purity of starch product samples. In this study, the minimum sample is 1/1000.
