The preparation and oxygen permeability of Pr_(0.9)Ca_(0.1)Al_(1-X)M_XO_3 system, where M = Co and Fe, have been investigated. For Pr_(0.9)Ca_(0.1)Al_(1-x)Fe_xO_3 solid solution with an orthogonal structure, an oxygen flux density of 4.6x10~(-6) mol·cm~(-2)·s~(-1) was attained for x = 0.8 under a methane conversion test at 1000℃, as a result of the enhancement of p-type conductivity by Fe-doping. For Pr_(0.9)Ca_(0.1)Al_(0.2)Fe_(0.8)O_3, the surface exchange kinetics seemed to be involved in oxygen permeation process when the membrane thickness was less than 0.03 cm.
