The UML Profile for Schedulability, Performance and Time, recently adopted by OMG, defines performance extensions via UML stereotypes, tagged values and constraints, which are used to attach performance annotations (such as resource demands and visit ratios) to a UML model. In order to conduct quantitative performance analysis of an annotated UML model, one must first translate it into a performance model, solve the obtained model with an existing performance analysis tool, and import the performance analysis results back into the UML model. This paper proposes a method for transforming automatically a UML model with Performance Profile annotations into a simulation model. The transformation is implemented in XSLT. Its input is an XMI file that represents the UML model, and the output is a CSIM18-based simulation model.
