Electronic warfare, which aims at weakening, enemy's electronic system and protecting themselves from being disturbed, has always been launched in advance. As an important development direction and modification of locating, passive locating has many advantages, such as far work distance, receiving covertly and not easily being detected. Passive locating reconnaissance at battle, tactics level in artillery battlefield can work together with other reconnaissance means. This thesis began with the character of passive locating reconnaissance, took the current reconnaissance capability in consideration, analyzed the feasibility of passive locating.It also proceeded from the analysis of current passive locating technique, put forward DTOA locating skill to fit passive locating and analyzed the precision under several systems. This thesis can give some help to improve passive locating reconnaissance and scout capability; it also means a lot to enhance the integration of reconnaissance and attack
