摘要

Based on problem-based or project-based learning (PBL), challenge-based learning (CBL) is a kind of learning style which emphasizes the difficulty of the problem and regards the cultivation of students' innovation ability as its main goal. In order to accelerate the construction of world-class universities as well as first-class discipline, and solve the problem that the current forms of instruction are not conducive to the cultivation of innovative ability, Tsinghua University put forward the teaching modes of CBL in 2008. The teaching effect of CBL is closely related with the course types. On the basis of the participation, tracking, and analysis of the teaching process of the relevant CBL courses in Tsinghua University, this paper will study CBL from the following aspects. Firstly, it puts forward the general goal and main features of CBL; secondly, it discusses and analyses the characteristics of CBL in the cultivation of students' innovative ability; thirdly, it combs and summarizes several typical course types of CBL; and finally, from the perspective of improving the learning effect of various kinds of CBL, it will put forward some opinions and suggestions to modify and perfect the current CBL course types, and improve both teachers' teaching and students' learning for CBL.
