摘要

New wording on degrees and diplomas reflecting professional competencies is one of the characteristics of the new educational model put forward by the European Space of Higher Education. In response to the necessity of implementing innovative strategies in nursing education, we launched a pilot project based on the use of three technological tools (Power point, OpenMeetings and Babelium). Its aim is to expand the area of assessed competences from the conventional written examination to recording, displaying and assessing video presentations on specific techniques in the subject The Structure and Function of Human Body taught in the Nursing School in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the academic year of 2011–2012. This paper aims to describe the outcomes of the project and show the advantageous effects of recording, displaying and assessing online videos on students' skills in handling new technologies, public communication, self study, team work and collaborative assessment.
