THE PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF THE RTS/CTS UNDER FRAGMENT ENVIRONMENT

In this paper, the IEEE 802.11 standard based Wireless LAN (WLAN) is discussed. RTS/CTS exchanging are widely used to solve the hidden node problems. The effect of this exchange is studied. The process of infrastructure network configuration, the accessing point functionality and RTS/CTS exchange procedure are also introduced. We construct a simulation platform to show the performance of wireless LAN under different strategies and make comparison between different strategies. Some analysis is given based on the simulation results.
