Uninhabited Aerial Vehicle (UAV) operations are capable of fulfilling many roles inrntraditionally pilot-occupied aerial applications and in non-traditional roles uniquely suitedrnto uninhabited aircraft, including intelligence gathering, telecommunications relayrnservices, environmental monitoring, surveillance, and military operations. Flightrnrestrictions within the National Airspace System (NAS) seriously limit UAV operations.rnGrowth in this industry, and the potential benefits, will be unattainable until UAV’s canrnoperate freely in the National Airspace System.
