The root knot nematode (RKN),Meloidogyne incognita,is able to infect almost all cultivated plants and is among the most damaging plant pathogens worldwide.Recent work supports the possibility that members of nematode have strong associations with microbes. So far, little is known about the bacterial communities associated with RKN.We used the bacterial 16S tag-encodedFLX-titanium amplicon pyrosequencing approach to assess the bacterial diversity inEgg mass, female and second-stage juvenile of M.incognita.
