The present invention relates to a novel porcine epidemic diarrhea virus and a vaccine composition for preventing porcine epidemic diarrhea disease using the same. The purified porcine epidemic diarrhea virus according to the present invention has the advantage that it is possible to proliferate in large quantities in Vero cells, and that it can be differentiated from an outdoor strain due to gene deletion and mutation. In addition, the purified porcine epidemic diarrhea virus belongs to the same G2b group as the recently popular swine epidemic diarrhea virus, and thus the problems of existing vaccines can be improved. Therefore, the purified porcine epidemic diarrhea virus according to the present invention can be used in various ways in the field of prevention and treatment of porcine epidemic diarrhea disease.
