The present invention relates to a porcine epidemic diarrhea virus-derived water-soluble recombinant antigen protein, and to a vaccine composition including the same for preventing or treating porcine epidemic diarrhea. To prevent porcine epidemic diarrhea (PED), a subunit vaccine has been developed as a strategy capable of more safely, economically, and rapidly dealing with occurrence of diseases. A conventional attenuated live vaccine is burdensome due to long-term successive culturing (100 times) in animal cells, so it is difficult to rapidly response to the epidemicity of a new mutated virus. However, the subunit vaccine of the present invention can be produced through a simple substitution of a mutated gene sequence in a cloning vector, so a rapid response can be made. Accordingly, the present invention is expected to be used as an oral vaccine along with an injection vaccine or a vaccine carrier for preventing or treating porcine epidemic diarrhea as an animal medical product.
