The invention relates to a mobile robot for picking stem fruit (5) of a plant, with at least one gripping device (1) which is mounted on a mobile robot chassis, wherein the mobile robot can move along the plants and the gripping device (1) can be shifted to a fruit (5) of the plant that is attached to the plant by a stem (4) and is to be picked. The fruit (5) is picked more gently according to the invention since the gripping device (1) has at least two clamping elements (3) each having a stem contact surface (6), such that the at least two clamping elements (3) grasp the stem (4) with a contact force (14) directed towards the stem (4), and wherein the gripping device (1) has a cutting tool (11) which can sever the stem (4) of the fruit (5) to be picked, such that the fruit (5) to be picked can be picked with a remainder of the stem (4) on the fruit (5). The invention also relates to a robot system with at least one mobile robot which can be connected to a central controller and can exchange measurement data, commands and/or information with said central controller.
