Provided are a data transmission method and a data transmission apparatus based on an I2C protocol. The method comprises: a first transmission chip acquiring I2C data from a first device, wherein the I2C data is data sent by the first device to a second device, and the first transmission chip corresponds to the first device; the first transmission chip sending first feedback information to the first device, wherein the first feedback information is used for indicating whether the I2C data is successfully received; the first transmission chip forwarding the I2C data to a second transmission chip corresponding to the second device; the first transmission chip receiving second feedback information from the second transmission chip, wherein the second feedback information is used for indicating whether the I2C data is successfully received; and the first transmission chip storing the second feedback information in a first storage space, wherein the first storage space is a storage space of the first transmission chip. According to the method provided in the present application, the effective rate of long-distance transmission of I2C data can be improved.
