The embodiments of the present invention provide a file transmission protocol-based data transmission method, apparatus, an electronic device and a storage medium. Said method comprises: acquiring data from a server and storing same in a memory; acquiring data from the memory by means of a preset reading module separately encapsulated, and returning a data acquisition resu if the data acquisition result indicates a failed data acquisition, restarting the reading module; and if the data acquisition result indicates a successful data acquisition, generating file content according to the data acquired by the reading module. The data is acquired by means of the preset reading module separately encapsulated; when a read error occurs during the reading process, it only needs to restart the preset reading module, without the need of restarting the entire FTP client program, the preset reading module being only used for acquiring data from the memory. The module has a small size and a fast restart speed, and can quickly reacquire data after restart, thereby being able to avoid crashing of the FTP client program, further improving the data transmission efficiency.
