ELECTRONIC WRITING DEVICE WITH DOT PATTERN RECOGNITION SYSTEM

A cholesteric liquid crystal (ChLC) electronic writing device includes a dot pattern recognition system. When writing pressure is applied to a writing device, an image of writing or drawing is displayed by the pressure sensitive ChLC polymer dispersions laminated into the device's multilayer system. A special stylus with a sensor and associated electronics is used to form an image on the electronic writing device. The stylus generates electrical information indicating the path or trajectory of the handwriting displayed by the electronic writing device, and this electrical information can be transmitted to any other display device via a wireless signal. This forms a duplicate image on the display device, which is a duplicate of the image on the electronic writing device.
