Provided are an intelligent charging method and system for an electric vehicle on a highway. The method comprises: determining whether the remaining driving mileage of an electric vehicle is greater than the driving mileage of the remaining power; if so, collecting electric vehicle information, highway information and charging station information; determining the shortest path according to the electric vehicle information, the highway information and the charging station information; generating an update reservation request according to the shortest path; determining whether an update event occurs; if so, returning to the step of "acquiring the remaining driving mileage of the electric vehicle on the highway and the driving mileage of the remaining power of the electric vehicle"; if not, sending the update reservation request to a charging station, and determining a reservation queue of the charging station; determining again whether an update event occurs; if so, adjusting the reservation queue; charging the electric vehicle according to the adjusted reservation queue; and if not, charging the electric vehicle according to the reservation queue. According to the method, an electric vehicle can reach a final destination with the shortest total traveling time.
