PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring the wall face of a coke oven carbonization chamber capable of suitably tracking a laser light image on the image of the wall face.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for measuring the wall face of a coke oven carbonization chamber where, before a tracking step, for an original image, a plurality of bright line images included in the original image and stretching in the depth direction are shrunk, the bright line images having a width lower than or equal to the width of a laser light image are eliminated among them to acquire a shrinkage-treated image, for the shrinkage-treated image, the bright line images remaining in the shrinkage-treated image are expanded to acquire an expansion-treated image, a difference between the original image and the expansion-treated image is extracted to acquire an extracted image, the linearity of the bright line images remaining in the extracted image is decided, and, based on the decision of the linearity, some bright line images are removed from the bright line images remaining in the extracted image, thus an image for tracking treatment is acquired.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
