16,082. Kand¾, C. de. Sept. 10. Switches ; cut-outs.- Relates to electric switches applicable for reversing multiphase motors and fitted with an overload cut-out. Figs. 1 and 3 show sectional elevations, Fig. 2 a part plan, and Fig. 4 the magnetic cut-out. Within a casing a are fixed sockets b carrying contacts c connected to the generator and the motor. The circuits are completed by plugs f, interconnected as shown in Fig. 2, and carried by a shaft d, adapted to be rotated by the handle t, and also to slide longitudinally. The shaft is articulated to a sliding frame l, operated by the handle i and crank k. On turning the handle, the crank enters the slot u, and raises the frame until the spring-controlled hooks o engage hooks p carried by the cores of the electromagnet q. Should the current be excessive, the hooks p are withdrawn, and the frame and shaft fall under their own weight or the action of a spring n.
