11,491. Williams, L. W., and Williams, O. R.. June 5. Cleats or holders for securing the strings of tarpaulins and the ropes used for holding loads in wagons. The fastener consists of a double flanged head formed in two parts a, a1, which are arranged to form a V-groove a2 to receive the tarpaulin string. The parts are held together by a bolt b, spike, or riveted pin, and the outer end of this bolt &c. is looped to receive the wagon rope, or, preferably, to receive a ring c to which the rope is secured. The inner end of the bolt, spike, or pin is used to secure the fastener to the wagon, or screws may pass through the part a1 for this purpose.
