25,297. Myall, A. Dec. 11. Toothed gearing. -Relates to mechanism for producing intermittent rotary motion. The pinion D on the driving - shaft gears with a wheel E having its teeth removed over an are sufficient to allow the pinion to rotate without affecting it. Fixed to the wheel and opposite this arc is an arm K, provided with a pin P the axis of which is on t h e pitch circle of the wheel. On the driving- shaft is mounted a disc H, formed with an annular segmental flange R, adapted to work over the pin P, and carrying a pin J, the axis of which is on the pitch line of the pinion, adapted to run round the end of the arm K. In the position shown, the wheel is at rest and locked, by the engagement of the pin P with the annular flange R, and the pin J is running round the circular end of the arm. When the pin reaches the tangential part M, it begins to turn the arm until, finally, when in the curved shoulder N, the wheel enters into gear with the pinion and the pin P leaves the flange R at S.
