Conductors.-The car A consists of a V-shaped casting tapered towards the ends, where the bottom may project beyond the sides. The underside may be bowed or straight, and the bottom of the groove may be undulated. The wire T is held in the groove by a clamp or wedge C secured by a pin or bolt P, and the sides of the car may be closed down on the wire. This clamp may form part of the insulated bolt B, which is held by a split screwed ring D in the bell-shaped hanger, or it maybe screwed on to the end of the bolt. Splicing- ears are made with a central boss K, round which the wire is brought to the anchoring-pins N.
