5188. Acme Sunlight Gas Syndicate, and Baumgarten, H. March 1. Acetylene.-Consists in improvements in the carbide holders of generators of the type described in Specification No. 15,396, A.D. 1898. The holders, which are supported on the travelling ring F by hooks n and straps r, are formed with a spring side or sides, or a hinged side or sides, the hinges being provided with springs if desired ; or the holders are formed of conical shape and in segments or other parts, so that when the lid is released the body of the box will spring open, or collapse, and thus ensure the discharge of the carbide. Fig. 3 shows a form with a spring side, which opens when the spring catch l is pushed off the pin o by a projection s on the shoot C. Fig. 4 shows a form with a side hinged at x and a spring v pressing against it.
