16,671. Ward, S. A. July 28. Stuffing - boxes.-Relates to an improvement on the piston-rod packing described in Specification No. 672, A.D. 1893. It consists of a number of segmental parts E, and stopping-pieces F, held in position by a coiled flat spring S2 and pressed against the rod A by means of the conical-faced ring G and the spring 8, all of which are enclosed in a second stuffing-box C, which may be fitted with a drain pipe D.
