Dividing - apparatus for drilling and punching machines, and for setting-out, comprises a base a, Figs. 1 and 3, formed with a circular boss a1, which has a scale at a2, and is recessed for a revoluble disc b provided with a pointer b1. The disc b is formed with a slit b2 and conical hole b2*, and is locked in position by screwing up a cone b4, thus widening the slit. A saddle c, grooved for a graduated bar d, is attached to the disc b and turns with it, the bar being central with the axis of rotation, and held in place by a frame c1, and a locking-strip c3 and screw c4 being provided. Lateral movement of the strip c3 is prevented by pins c6 screwed through the side of the saddle c. A bushed hole d1, near the end of the bar d, serves as a guide for the drill, punch, or scriber, for circular work, and, for other work, a similar saddle e and bar f are provided, being carried on the end of the bar d so that the two bars are at right-angles. 'The apparatus is provided with a stud and nut a3* for clamping to the work or bench &c.
