Candle sconces ; l a m p brackets.- Relates to a candle or lamp holder for attachment to a cabinet, chair, table, counter, piano, organ, Derby desk, typewriter's table mantelpiece, window sill, &c. A candlestick, p r o - vided with a saveall disc and screw t, or a small socket lamp c, is fitted on one end of a double-armed bracket a, the other end of which is mounted to rotate on a spindle or shank d of a standard b, and is retained by a capped nut e. The standard b is split to form legs f for engagement on a cheek piece k of the organ &c. The standard is threaded externally round the upper portion of the split part, to receive a winged adjusting-nut h. The legs f are pressed apart by a spring s, and are secured by a screw bolt m provided with an incised or winged head, or by a bolt and nut. The inner surfaces of the legs f are roughened, or, preferably, provided with rubber or like bands or strips l. The legs may be stiffened by a web plate, and, in some cases, are slightly bent or cambered inwards. According to the Provisional Specification, a ball-and-socket joint is provided in one or both arms, for use on a horizontal ledge.
