Valve-gear.-In a lift-valve gear worked from a countershaft K, the eccentric-actuated valve-lifting lever F works on an adjustable fulcrum plate M carried by the lever L, one end of which is pivoted to the casing while the other is connected to the bell-crank lever S actuated by the adjustable cam W on the countershaft. The valve is opened by the lever F moving about the fulcrum-plate M and is closed by the spring D when the plate M drops . away from the lever F.
