Trimming oil lamps; wick-trimmers.-A sheetmetal device for holding a flat lamp-wick while it is being trimmed consists of a trough a, a hinge piece b, and a clamping- lever c the short arm of which is bent at rightangles to the long arm. The piece b and lever c are pivoted to the trough a at d and f respectively. The piece b and trough a have their lower edges bent slightly outwards so as to form a flared inlet for the wick. The upper edges of the device are shaped to the exact contour to be given to the wick.
