5497. Reuthe, G., and Amalgamated Radio-Telegraph Co. June 18,1907, [date applied for under Section 91 of Patents &c. Act, 1907]. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Telegraphs.-The arm carrying the ink-wheel of a Morse printer used with a coherer in wireless telegraphy responds quickly to a forward impulse, but its return is retarded by pneumatic, mechanical, or other means, so that the decohering of the coherer by the tapper does not break the continuity of a " dash " signal. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the ink-wheel f is carried by a lever s, which is operated by an armature a. When the wheel f rises, air flows through a hole o in a cylinder c, but on return, a disk g closes the hole and the motion of the wheel is retarded by a piston b. In the form shown in Fig. 5, an arm t carried by the lever s rests on a wheel h which is mounted on a spring i. The action between the wheel h and the arm t produces the retarding effect.
