April 18 Lamp and gas brackets.-Brackets for cycle lamps, motor-car lamps, and lamps for road vehicles generally are provided with a bell-crank locking- lever pivoted to the angle of the bracket so that one end of the lever may be operated by a screw to cause the other end of the lever to grip securely the inside of the lamp socket. In Fig. 3, the locking-lever B is shown loosely pivoted by a bolt 7 above the angle of the bracket A, and in the position shown the parts 1, 4 may be engaged within the lamp socket. For locking, the end 5 is operated by a nut 10 and screw 9 until the tip of! the part 4 bears securely against the inside of the socket, as shown in Fig. 1 ; or, if this tip is bent over as shown at 14, Fig. 1*, the tightening is continued until the part 14 engages over the upper edge of the socket. Fig. 6 shows an alternative form in which the locking-lever. B is pivoted below the angle of the bracket, and is operated by a screw 16 provided with a washer 18 to prevent it from being lost.
