13,588. Groth, L. A. Dec. 16. Storing under pressure. - Relates to storage vessels for liquefied gases, such as air, oxygen, and nitrogen, of the type in which the evaporating gas is utilized for heatinsulating purposes in a surrounding jacket, and consists in making the automatic valves which control the escape of the gas of porous material, so as to prevent possible damage caused by a valve sticking to its seat. The vessels may be used for cooling purposes or for the preservation of food products. The storage vessel a, the jacket space c of which may be wholly or partly filled with an insulating material, preferably flaked charcoal or granulated cork, is provided with a porous stopper or an ordinary cork g, and the escape of the evaporating gas is controlled by porous flap valves h, k made, for instance, from disks of paper or cardboard. The jacketed vessel may be enclosed in a casing d provided with a hinged cover, preferably being embedded in heatinsulating material e. Castors f are provided to facilitate transit. In small vessels, the valve h may be replaced by a simple orifice.
