Fabrics with moirÚ and like effects, looms specially designed for.- Comprises arrangements whereby patterns are produced in fabrics by subjecting selected sets of warp threads to continual alterations in tension relative to the rest of the warp, so that the weft is forced into undulations or waves. Warp threads a pass from the beam b over rods c, d and round a guide-rod m. The camlike eccentric, or other tensioning-device, which is preferably - operated from the picking-shaft, consists of a rod k carried by brackets from a rotating shaft g. The warps a3 that are not to be acted. on may pass round either the rod c or the guide n.
