[Cognate Application, 26,455/10.] Pneumatic elevators.-In pneumatic elevators of the kind provided with a vacuum chamber from which the grain is discharged through an air-lock, means are provided to discharge the vacuum chamber at a point above the chamber. Grain is drawn from the vessel b into the vacuum chamber a and is thence elevated bv a bucket elevator d to the air-lock e and is discharged through the shoot f. The casing h of the elevator forms part of the vacuum chamber. The air-lock has two superposed chambers with conical spring - pressed valves m, q in the bottoms, and the lower chamber may be placed into communication with the upper chamber or with the atmosphere by a three-way cock s rocked automatically from the driving-gear of the elevator. The delivery pipe u to the vacuum chamber is made telescopic to allow for alteration in the water-level of the vessel b, and its length is adjusted by a winch and tackle,
