Nap, raising.-Instead of a teazle cylinder, a gig-mill is provided with a coarse wire brush C adjustable by means of screws D and a cross-shaft F, a roller B covered with keen cord - clothing and mounted in cranked arms G adjustable by a screw shaft I, and a roller A covered with fine cord - clothing. The contact of the cloth E with the roller A is regulated by raising or lowering the breast roller K by an eccentric lever motion in connexion with a screw adjustment M actuated from a cross - shaft N. The rollers are driven by belts from a shaft 0, the middle belt being provided with a tension roller P on an adjustably-weighted lever.
