Floor rugs and mats; materials, special, fabrics containing ; hair fabrics. - A reversible ventilating - covering for floors, applicable also for floor rugs, mats, &c., is woven from strips or ribbons of asphalted material, such as compressed wool or hair treated with asphalt, or canvas embedded in asphalt. The strips may be of different widths or shapes so as to produce designs. The covering has open ventilating spaces c, Fig. 3. Extra holes d may be cut in the material, and metal eyelets c, Fig. 4, may be placed in these holes to form scraper mats. The ends of the strips are fixed together by cement, tacks, or rivets.
