Rests, foot.-In an invalid's chair, tricycle, or like vehicle provided with a forwardly - projecting adjustable foot-rest, the foot-rest can be swung down so that a part of it rests upon the ground when the invalid is enteriog or leaving the vehicle and a forward tipping of the vehicle is thus avoided. The foot-rest comprises two parts k, l set at an angle and carried by a frame e, which is pivoted at f to the vehicle frame and provided with an extension g formed with a handle h for operaticn by the invalid. The footrest may rest upon the ground as shown in broken lines; or it may be raised by depressing the handle h, and fixed at the desired angle by a ratchet frame m which engages the axle n and is operated from a bell-crank lever o.
