12,164. Dapino, E. May 16. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Actuating. - A spring - pressed valve l is mounted in a rapidly disconnectible coupling which comprises a socket, Fig. 1, screwed into the service main and a removable spigot, Fig. 4, which has a cam surface y adapted to coact with a similar cam q on the valve. After the spigot has been thrust in, it is rotated without axial movement, through an angle determined by a bayonet slot s in the socket and the action of the cams moves the valve from its seating h. The spigot carries a bayonet pin z on the part t that enters the socket. The valve is guided by a tail rod m passing through a bridge-piece c screwed on to the socket, and the portion o on which the cam q is formed is of square section running in a square guideway q so that the valve is free to move axially without rotation. The fluid passes through holes j, v formed respectively around the guide g and in the end of the spigot.
