13,711. Wilson, R. -Sept. 27. Moulding walls in situ.-Apparatus for moulding solid or hollow concrete walls in situ comprises pairs 'of T and L iron standards 16, Fig. 1, rabbeted to engage top and bottom pairs of angle-iron rails 17, the lower ends of the standards having also a notch, and the upper ends a clamp 19, as shown in Fig. 4. Yokes 23 space the frames apart. Brackets are formed at intervals on the standards, consisting of short angle-irons 21 and spacing-blocks 22, Fig. 9, which receive struts 20, Fig. 1, and to which the lugs 25 of the mould plates are secured by wedges 26. The mould plates consist of sheet iron stiffened on the edge by angles 24, Fig. 8, and also across the body to prevent bulging. The ends of the edge angles project as lugs 25 to engage the brackets 21 and allow the inner faces of the plates to be flush with those of the standards; yokes may also be passed over the opposing plates. For hollow walls, sheet-metal cores or boxes 28, Fig. 11, are placed between the frames, and a hopper 29, Fig, 13, is mounted on the boxes so that a central cap 30 covers in the top of the box; a lid 31, Fig. 11, with a depending plate to prevent collapse inwardly, may also be fitted to the box. Each box is made in two or more parts with plain or rolled edges 32, and to facilitate their removal when the concrete has set, one or both ends have lapped edges clamped together by grips 33, 34, Fig. 12. The moulds may reach to the first floor and are re-erected on the concrete already cast.
