Punching; stamping; metal-sheet feeds,-In a machine for stamping sheet-metal box covers, tops, bottoms, &c., in which the sheet is fed by hand under the control of stops g, the scrap is not cut away but is deflected so as not to interfere with the feed. In the press shown, the scrap is curled up by a guide h and the stamped articles are received, as they are ejected from the upper die e, by a shoot j. This is moved to one side when the die e descends by a cranked bar k engaging rollers p in the slide n carrying the shoot. The bar k and shoot may be adjustable.
