Slots, reversers, and like apparatus; visual outdoor signals.-One or more signals are operated by an electric motor 89 operating, through worm gearing 92, 93 and a connecting-rod 96, a cross shaft 97 carried by crank-arms 98 pivoted on the casing. The shaft 97 carries one or more levers 99, one end of which is connected to the counterweighted signal rod 100 and the other supports a shoe 101, adapted to be held in position by a magnet 102 so as to form a fulcrum about which the lever 99 may rock to set the signal to clear when the magnet 102 is energized. When the magnet 102 is de-energized, the lever 99 rocks about the shaft 97, and the signal either moves to, or remains at, the danger position. Contacts in the motor circuits for reversing the signal are opened and closed by levers 107 actuated by a spring-pressed rod 109 in the manner described in Specification 120,553. Contacts in control circuits to locking or indicating devices are closed and opened by similar levers 113 moved by cams 106, rigidly connected to levers 105 engaging the signal rod 100. The apparatus is particularly applicable to the control of signals as described in Specification 121,603. The coupling magnets may be controlled by Aubine pedals as described in Specification 23222/05.
