摘要
122,026. Webb, F. J., and Leather, F. J. Jan. 10, 1918. Portable buildings.-The roof and sides consist of T-shaped rafters L1, M', Figs. 4 and 8, filled in with pannelled sections. On each side of the rafters are laminated ribs N1 secured to the rafters and to distance-pieces Q'. The rafters are hooked at S' and R' to the floor and opposite rafter respectively. To each rafter is secured a flanged plate X', the flanges of which enter slots in the stiles of the side and roof sections, which are drawn towards and secured to the rafters by wedge-pieces K1 as described in Specification 121,197. A slightly modified construction of this wedge fastening is described. The panels are provided with inwardly projecting fillets, which engage with the edges of adjacent panels so that the latter are interchangeable; they are covered externally with felt, canvas, iron, asbestos, or other waterproof covering, and may also be provided with an internal lining carried on fillets. The ends of the hut are made in sections having at the bottom projections which engage with iron sockets secured to the floor, and at their upper ends wedge fastenings similar to those shown in Fig. 8. The floor is made in sections which fold on one another, or are removable, the joists being made to fold. One joist A of each section is made in three parts, of which the end portions are pivoted to sleepers beneath by bolts E, Fig. 2, and the middle portion is pivoted to one of the end portions and the whole is held to sleepers by hooked bolts. The remaining floor joists of each section are secured to the flooring boards and rest on the sleepers, each floor section being held in position by hooked turn-bolts P, Fig. 2. To facilitate ventilation, the roof panels do not extend, quite to the ridge, so that a double hooked bolt J1, Fig. 12, may be passed upwards from inside and engage ridge blocks F1, on which is supported a length of canvas G1 supported at the ridge by a wire rope H1. A modified ridge cap is described constructed of corrugated iron. The interior of the hut may be fitted with a shelf consisting of a. sheet of corrugated iron resting on hinged brackets supported by a chain.
