Stands or supports for vehicles.-In the jacking- apparatus described in the parent Specification, the operating-link is connected to a sleeve which is moved along a bar by means of rack-and-pinion mechanism, and the link is fitted with a roller engaging the ground. The link a is connected to the frame h by members i and is pivoted to a sleeve d fitted with rack teeth q engaged by a pinion p operated by a detachable hand-lever r. The end of the link a is provided with a roller b. The link a and members i may be pivoted together at their ends. The sleeve may be operated by an antifriction screw-thread.
