Limbs, artificial.-An ankle joint is constituted by two interlocking eyes formed on the ends of bolts C, one of which is fixed to the leg member A and the other to the foot B. Surrounding the joint, between the leg and foot members, is a ring of india-rubber D, which is retained in compression by nuts on the bolts C at the ends away from the joints.
