Hasp locks; locking sliding latches; spring mechanism.-In a lock for attachÚ cases &c., the bolt c, which locks the latch a in position by the engagement of the shoulders c1, a1, is itself provided with an extension c2 which takes into the catch-plate. A single spring d, secured to the back-plate at b4, and held by a bent tongue b10, controls both the locking-bolt and the latch. Pins b2, b3 engaging in slots c3, c4 guide the bolt, and one or more stamped-up tongues b7 guide the latch. The parts are assembled on the backplate, and the cover is then placed in position, the stem of the latch-button being passed through a hole a3, and riveted over, access to it being had through a hole in the back-plate.
