Improvements in and relating to cameras applicable to aerial photography

Aeronautical photography; prcducing identification and designating.-A camera more particularly for aerial photography is fitted with a tubular casing 8 extending to the focal plane into which slides a tube 14 carrying an auxiliary lens 9 and means for recording a geographical bearing on the view taken. A detachable fitting 15 contains a slotted magnetic disc 12 or a disc with a luminous needle. The image of the bearing is projected by the lens 9 and recorded simultaneously with the view either by a focal-plane shutter 6 or by independent shutters 17, 18 simultaneously actuated, or by a single shutter simultaneously exposing both the lens 4 and the tube 14. In a modified arrangement the tube 14 may be fitted with an internal lamp to project an image of the compass card and switched on at the proper moment. The lower part of the tube 14 may have a ruby insertion and reflector 22 serving for inspection and, where a lamp is used, for indicating or signalling that the exposure has been made.
