Clamping-devices.-A clip for holding Treasury notes and other papers, which can be manipulated by one hand, consists of an upper plate Aa pivoted at one edge to a base-plate A, and a pair of weights B serving to clamp the papers on the plate Aa, the weights being carried by arms E on a rock-shaft H, to which the plate Aa is connected by a link G so that the plate Aa is normally elevated, and depression of the plate Aa effects raising of the weights clear of the plate to admit the papers. The rock-shaft H is supported in end brackets C on the base-plate. The plates are pivoted together either by means of leaf hinges Da, or by means of pivot pins entering holes D in the brackets C.
