Selective signalfing-apparatus.-A till, &c. 10, Fig. 1, for filing paper money, &c. comprises two or more chambers of differing size and shape provided with spring pressed platforms 12, 120, a slot 16 in the partition 11 separating the chambers, corresponding with slots 15 in the platforms 12, 120 to facilitate withdrawal of the contents. An electrical indicating device designed to indicate the chamber which was last used comprises six spring contacts 55, 55x, 500, 56, 56x, 56o arranged so that depression of a platform causes one or two wedge shaped members 54, 540 to bring the appropriate pair of contacts against the contacts 55x, 56x, thus closing a circuit which energizes an electromagnet to operate a signal, the polarity of the electromagnet being reversed when the other platform is depressed. A reversing switch may also be provided while one set of contacts 56, 56x, 560 may be dispensed with and the contacts 55, 550 arranged to cause the illumination of a pair of windows, bearing appropriate devices.
