Refrigerators, domestic and like.-A cooling- chamber or safe comprises a skeleton wood frame with walls m of canvas or other porous material kept moist by means of strips of flannel or like material r dipping into water in a zinc or other tray q, resting within the top members of the frame below the upper edges of the canvas walls, so that the longer ends of the flannel strips are within the tray. The canvas &c. is preferably spaced from the woodwork by metal cornerpieces, and may be nailed on. Drip is collected in a zinc or other gutter k and led away. The walls are protected by outer sheets t of perforated metal spaced from the canvas. The interior may 'be fitted with shelves, and the frame is provided with legs j.
